Mother and child

A White Rhino and her newborn female offspring. The baby rhino was just a matter of hours old when the photo ref was taken. She was born at our local free-range zoo a few weeks ago.

Watercolour and airbrush. I think I spent more time deciding on the background than I did on the painting!:confused::confused:

Looks nice. The background is a cross between natural with perspective and a tonal treatment like a photographer might use called a 'no seam' which is a roll of paper or fabric pulled down to be underfoot and wrap up behind.

The earthy feel definitely suits mom and the baby. Cute stuff.
