Always opens untitled 1 when started can not close. [Archive]

MacBook Pro OSX El Capitan Ver 10.11.6 ArtRage 6.1.1 64bit
Why is it that art rage always opens untitled 1 when it is started and you can not close it out? How do you start ArtRage without a file opening?
I appreciate any answers.

I don't know if it's the same for Mac, but on Windows after ArtRage has opened I can open another painting. Then, if I click the top of the window where it says the name of the painting, I click "untitled 1" again. Finally, I click to bring up that same drop down menu and click "close painting". This way I only have one painting open.

Alternatively, if I know I want a specific painting open from the beginning, I go to the folder that I keep my painting files in and open that one directly. ArtRage will open with that file and nothing else initially.
