Why do you need my full address so I can buy your downloadable software?

I don't understand why I need to give out so much private information. Usually an e-mail address (and a password for my future account) is enough to get a download link, proven by many other software.

It may have something to do with the requirements of the credit card you are using. I wish I could have chimed in sooner-- but I just bought another downloadable product that required those details for purchase and realized it might be needed for proper billing info. Check with your credit card company and they may have an answer for you.
