Crashes when holding CTRL for lines

When I hold CTRL down for too long the whole app crashes, losing art progress and colors added to the samples etc. I figured it might have been caused by having too many other programs running in the background so I tend to close most down when I paint now, but it's still occasionally causing crashes. Is there a way to prevent this or is there an autosave feature I can use? Using windows 10 if that helps.

This doesn't happen to me. I'm also using Windows 10, with ArtRage 6.1.2. So I don't think that it's a bug. There is a Backup-Function in the Preferences (Menue "Edit"), under Advanced Preferences".

Edit: As I just read, there exists a problem with a Windows Update (probably the optional Update KB4535996) that causes Perfomance-Problems in many cases. Maybe this is the reason for your problem.
