My pen doesn't work all the time

I could really use some help.
I'm trying to get to grips with artrage on my new Lenovo Yoga book (Android). Whenever I try to draw or paint my pen is erratic in how it delivers the paint. Some strokes work but others don't. I've tried pressing hard then soft, I've even tried the pen at different angles, but nothing helps. The pen came with the tablet and is a proper stylus. It's really frustrating . Has anyone else experienced this and what's the solution?

Have a flick through the manual - there's various settings for the pen drivers in the preferences, depending on what you're using and what it supports.

Thanks Nick. I'll give it a go. I've tried the pen in other apps and it's fine there.
