В ArtRage 6 не работает должным образом мастихин! Вот сравнение на одинаковых холстах, одинаковая кисть, а результат разный. Надо как в 5 версии чтобы размазывал хорошо!
The ArtRage 6 does not work properly as a palette knife! Here is a comparison on the same canvas, the same brush, and the result is different. It is necessary as in version 5 to smear well!

Noticed the same thing. Can't smear the oil color from the oil brush as you could before.

I think now the amount of paint put down by the oil brush also depends on "Depth". If you lay down thicker depth of paint I think it smears like before.

Hmm, I’m finding this to actually.
Things are less spreadable now than in past versions of AR.
I tried this little test;
Starting in AR5. Default opening canvas.
Oil Brush settings set to default, size 100%
After Painting, layer duplicated. One for use in AR5 one for AR6.
Knife set to defaults, size 50%, then Pressure set to 100%
To avoid any pressure info from my tablet affecting things I then used a mouse to spread the paint as far as it would go in one stroke.
Saved, Opened next in AR6 and repeated the knife strokes with the same tool settings.
AR6 is spreading the paint less.

Can I ask what depth did you set your oil brush to?

Ah, well that’s the thing, the setup of the paint layers was all done in AR5, which dose not have paint Depth or Gloss settings, in order to rule out any variables those two settings may have introduced to how the Knife tool is moving the paint in AR6.
Having done the strokes on the AR5 side, I saved the painting and then opened it in AR6.
This way the AR6 Knife is working with exactly the same paint depth, wetness etc… of oil paint as it’s AR5 counterpart.

Well I suppose something about the old paint is lost in the translation... AR6 has new paint!

Setting 100% depth helps unless you have insta dry on, which is realistic I guess.
You also have to remove canvas lighting since 100% depth will create so high ridges in the paint it gets hard to tell value in small details.
Mixed areas of insta-dry, thinned out paints and non-thinned paint will have a hard to tell behaviour.

By the way, the palette knife does not want to work with all other tools! Try wax, chalk or felt pen. Same! I want the old palette knife, as in version 5 !!!

Okay... okay... I'll look into this one next. I made some efficiency changes to the palette knife and it's possible the behaviour was affected.
Had to look at a couple of crash bugs first.

Okay I think I've located an issue relating to unloaded palette knife behaviour. The next ArtRage update will have a fix for this. I'm sure other bugs will show up so it'll probably be updated soon.

The ArtRage 6.0.9 update has just been uploaded, and that should get your smudgy palette knifey goodness back again.
