Does it have any such function?
In photoshop I can set the select tool to auto-select the layer of the section i select on the canvas. So if I click on stuff in the foreground, it immediately jumps to that layer. So all I have to do is click the hotkey "Ctrl" and select which part i wish to continue painting on, without having to search through the layer pane to figure out which layer "that" was on.
