ArtRage 4 Crash When Holding CTRL

Running ArtRage 4, purchased via Steam, and I'm getting crashes with no error popup when I hold CTRL+click for straight lines for too long. It seems that about 5 seconds is what causes it. What's the reason and is there anything I can do to stop this?
