Does anyone know how i'd turn my roller brushed or painted surface into more of a detailed look. Im looking for it to look sort of like wood or marble effect. Im sure it must be simple, i just can't find my answer anywhere.

You can go into Canvas Settings and find a novelty canvas you like. There is a stone version (see image) in AR5, and Marble in Ipad.
To get the effect of the texture best, I find a light chalk/pastel picks up the grain pretty well. Just scruff over the grain.
You can change the grain size in the settings, and then remove that canvas when you're done.
Or, you can import an image onto a layer, and use that. Just resize, move around and rub out what you don't want. Google for the texture you want, there are heaps.
You can also import an image and create a canvas grain from that.
Hope that gives you some ideas!
