Stuck colour circle when colour picking

One of my students, who has an Ipad pro, selects a colour, and there is a circle of that colour left just outside the colour section on bottom right. It stays for a long time, and no amount of tapping elsewhere will make it disappear.

This is happening randomly with me, too. But clears after a pause. Maybe a memory issue?

Even iPad Pros can have memory problems!

Are there a lot of other apps running in the background?
Does closing and re-opening the painting help? (this clears out the undo history)
Does closing all open apps and restarting the iPad make a difference?
