This is my 1st. post.
I found AR by watching a Youtube created by Nick Harris, it's excellent.
From there I began to explore more video tutorials - another top instructor
is Someonesane. From Youtube to AR forums, it's a pure delight to read
the warm helpful comments. Another plus is the AR team, you are the healthy
backbone of this delightful program.

Along time ago I played with Photoshop, Adobe's licensing put a blight on it.
Next I tried Corel Painter, their kazillion brushes were just too confusing.

The enjoyment I get from AR is awesome and I'm happy I jumped ahead
to AR 5.

Well hello there abby-helen and welcome to the ArtRage forums:)
Look forward to seeing more of you and your work here.
I know what you mean about an over abundance of choice in Painter (and in many other programs!)

After owning three copies of Corel Paint I came to the conclusion, in my opinion; that it is bloatware. It's not you.

ArtRage is simple to use but looks just as good as the other two programs IMHO. ArtRage 95% of the time makes perfect sense to me with its layout and functionality. And, they are always tweaking it for the better.

Welcome aboard Abby-Helen!

Markw, Thank you for your warm welcome. I look forward to posting my artwork.
Most of my work is a freehand drawing - I scan it and with AR I add what is needed.
My favorite brush is the oil brush, I also like like the ink pen and a bit of watercolor.

HwyStar, Thank you for welcoming me aboard this fine community.
I agree AR's simplicity is definitely a plus. I joined AR 2 years ago
and still have so much to learn but having fun.
