Is there a way to lock transparency on a stencil, so brushstrokes do not go outside the stencil?

And is there a good stencil tutorial video available?

Thanks.

Hi soulartist - I made a short video showing how to fill a stencil with the bucket tool without 'bleeding' outside the stencil. If you are using a brush to paint within the stencil then the first part of the video, i.e., putting a selection around the stencil, will enable you to confine the brushstrokes within the stencil.

If you locked the transparency, you would not be able to use the stencil.

Thanks, found that out.

I've always thought there is an improvement that (the wonderful) Artrage could make here.

I find that I am always enclosing a stencil for inside a selection to prevent the paint spilling over the edge. I would like an option for encasing a stencil inside a selection automatically. This could be chosen, or not, from within preferencias.
