The challenge is to paint a landscape of extremes, like glaciers and volcanos in the same scene. Or desert meets rainforest. Or city meets intense nature. Things like that! Take as much or as little time on the painting as you wish.

Here are some photos to get you inspired.

you may also get inspired by phenomena that is called as "Desierto Florido", in Atacama desert, en Chile.

you may search for photos, here are some: http://mantruc.com/fotos/

There's a moon of Saturn called Enceladus that has a really strange phenomenon. It has ice volcanoes -- volcanoes that spew ice rather than fire.

Your painting before the addition of the riverboat, it sorta reminded me of it.

Have you been traveling again?

maybe a coincidence, but i've immediately associated the picture with the tale: Saturn Rising, by A. Clarke.

Hi Marumaar... Strange that you & DAkey said the same thing... I've not read the tale "Saturn Rising". What kind of tale is it?
Thanks for stopping by.

Hello Heikki,
Very interesting!
Good conversation with an old friend is Timeless...
Friends like that always seem to be able to pick right up where they left off, as if they have never separated. Always Welcome, like a warm blanket on a cold day.
Kind Regards,

These are all very nice,,,, I would like to ask about Florida Girls painting,,, is it just me or is there something special about Contrarywise? don't want to say i saw it before but something familiar about it, maybe there is a student of art history that recognizes the style, i think it is a very special or exceptional painting, but i don't know why, thank you,,,,,,,,,
