HI TO YOU ALL FOLKS! Back from Sardinia and safe from earthquake

The new tragic disaster You likely heard about was a really sad one and once more, with a country prone to frequent enough earthquake almost all over, we had to realize that we should set up a massive and expensive long term effort to keep most of our towns and villages resilient to them.
It's foolish to be proud of a now quite perfect disaster relief organization, because it just part, and not the most important one, of the solution.
The problem is huge because nowhere else in Europe the problem is at any rate similar, since we are pressed between Africa and continental Europe (Italy has important fault lines and volcanoes) and we have plenty of marvellous little town built in various ages that we would rather consolidate than to raze and re-build new and different, so economically and technically is a big challenge and we should approve some law for mandatory insurance, to enhance people willingnes to look for safety of their buildings.
Obviously we never miss a good percentage of corruption and misbehavious or criminal behaviour among administrators and builders ....

Anyway here's an Artrage experiment on a picture from a handmade drawing. I've been away for quite a long time on holyday in Sardinia and tablets aren't good to use with the beach light.
I would also has dome real watercolor and else experiments I had the opportunity to try.

Apart from landscapes and a watercolor version of Modigliani and Cézanne paintings parts, all the rest is no reference, just imagination ....

Nice stuff Caesar. You seem to most often return with real world paintings, and this year is no different. Looks like you were in a beautiful area. I am no fan of adding taxes. You are quite right that much gets skimmed off the top. Seems the way of things. But there should be building standards to withstand earthquakes. And your world there is so old it has to be daunting. Many things to fix. But necessary.

Welcome back. You were missed. Was really slow in your absence. And what with the Olympics, even Mr Ploos was absent quite a lot.

Thank You, dear DAkey. Maybe this time, crisis or not, we'll start taking the issue much more seriously. Even not taking into account the priceless loss of human lives, it's more expensive, with the frequency of events we have, to progressively turn all buildings anti-seismic, than to re-build everytime.
A great example was the town Norcia, famous also for hams, sausages etc., which, built appropriately after the eartquake in Umbria of some time ago, didn't get any damage at all, so ....
Obviously it was far easier in Japan, notwithstanding the even higher leves of earthquakes than in Italy, since over there, as in China, their millenarian civilizations mostly build with wood, paper etc., i.e. not buildings who were supposed to last.
Here in Italy we used to build for eternity in the past and the best for this were the ancient Romans for sure, since their architectures, buildings, arenae, aqueducts, bridges and roads stood in so many cases against time as well as earthquakes.

Practice is the key, especially with real tools, but, unfortunately, either with watercolor or, even worse, with acrylics, I only have very few days each year to use them, because it's hard to cope with the summe difficulties of finding: neat painting time, room/ place availability and set-up/ clean up and put-away time ....

Just consider that my wife's parents, since start of this year, need special, intensive support by us (as well as my father, who is, alas in Pescara, and my old mother and one of my brother are the ones assisting him).
