Attempt to capture the feeling of a castle under Siege, the way out blocked off by soldiers, this is the Invading sides view of course, guarding the only route in and out of the castle....Red sky in the morning Shepherds Warning.......Very different to my usual, in that there quite a few PEOPLE in the painting........hope it comes over to you as I want it to.....ongoing tidying up to do, a few more details etc......

Hello hello.

That's quite some door knocker they have there.

Don't you just hate it when the in-laws visit all unexpected like?

Thanks D...I do take encouragement from you... sometimes I get to thinking, people must get fed up with the same old style, the same old methods, the same old presentation, I do have pretty set ways of doing things I guess, and they are pretty much things picked up, experience in the actual painting, and of course previous oil painting for years,so I guess you would expect to see a certain amount of repition in my work, I try to vary the content as much as I can, but I really dont want my work to become boring,I am learning from the other great Artists on the forum, and also from tips picked up from your good self, But I am afraid I have straight away broken this tangents taboo, loads of times in this picture,I have tried hard to make it less obvious but there are cases where I couldnt change angles etc, because it makes things look crooked, twisted or just wrongly placed, you will probably see the places I mean,a bit more complex this one though... thanks for looking D... I am going to put this in my gallery as well as here... I dont think it will stand any more detail.... Jack,.

B-D-B...good comment...I actually changed the Hue in Adobe to get a more fiery look into the sky,and to reduce the green and pleasant feel, I thought a browner grass would give the feeling of lack of water, parched grass....I did quite a bit of tidying up edges and stuff like that as well but you raise a fair point....Well spotted.... Jack.

B-D-B...Just realised what you said could be refering to the causeway leading up to the Castle gate???... if you meant that, yes I changed that to a more flat anmd level surface, because I dont think carts and carriages could have negotiated the uneven terrain as it was, so that was the reason for flattening the surface there...Jack.

oh, yeah jack I just meant the color of the grass on the path leading to the castle. You know, it looks almost silvery and moonlit, yea? I just thought it looked cool, like there's still some brightness out there despite the battle :D
