Open tool and layers windows prevent painting

I am repeatedly frustrated when nothing happens when I paint, use the palette knife, etc because the tool setting window is open. Same for the layer window though more obvious.

It would be very helpful if just touching the canvas would close those windows and enable painting, etc.

Or allow working while they are open.

This is standard iOS behaviour - If a popup is visible access to items around it is blocked until it closes. In our original version we did implement a system that allowed immediate painting but it caused a lot of frustration for users who are used to the standard model of tapping to dismiss and ended up getting stray blobs on their canvas and we ended up having to remove it. It may appear again as an option at some point, but I don't know for sure if that will happen.

Update: It's Saturday morning here but I had an idea itching in the back of my head so I just implemented this as an option for 2.1...
