Better and better! I really think you've picked a very good, organic subject to employ painterly brush strokes. Very effective! I think both paintings are successful, but I really love the second one as a beautiful painting.

I admire the colors you've chosen, along with the thick strokes. The different sections of the painting compliment each other nicely. I very much like the composition and colors. It allows you to work different techniques yet maintain the clarity of the shapes within the design.

Organic shapes are a lot more open to changing the character more so than the exact nature of portraits and architecture. So you've chosen your subject well. Very good development of your visual vocabulary and you will be able to use these painterly ideas in the context of other subjects.

I think you should be very pleased with the results. I'm impressed.
