View Full Version : Have You seen king Kong recently? A fun collective thread proposal

I had this idea after I saw a King King in Boston, i.e. displaced from the traditional Empire State Building site (or WTC).
So why don't we start a thread where the giant ape is seen all over the word and, namely, in each mate's country?
Here's my quick sketch/ painting to kick off the ball ....

Is this Kong flashing the planes!!, with a mocking grin on his face!

I think I will take up this challenge, it should be fun.

Thank you, dear RedSaucer. Great expectations then, considering Your humour, mastery and unique style! :D:cool:

Love this one Caesar and the idea you have sounds like so much fun, I wish I had time to take part in this but we are heading back to Canada again, hope I can get a chance to peak in while I am there, (no internet at house there) but they have it at nursing home so will try to peak in there lol

So maybe Kong would move from Pisa to some Canadian skyscraper or tower as soon as You resume painting, dear Pat .... ;)

The movie shows many frames which were worth to be considered a valuable finished work. Great!

I loved watching how you used the knife - I would have liked to have been able to slow it down and to have seen the settings you used. You make it look so easy.

Hi Enug.

Fortunately the knife settings are fairly simple, so I just tweak things until things feel right, I did however use the <Ctrl> key quite a lot in this one to draw straight lines while having the knife partially loaded, so it tapers off nicely.

Great stuff. . . if not a bit painful for the old King. That leaning tower -- explains a lot with all that monkey business for which it was never designed, eh? My guess is that those pilots were no doubt sent out by the Florentines. That historic city-state rivalry of exchanging insults was taken to new heights. . . or new lows, depending on your perspective. Hope Kong doesn't fall onto the Signoria or a cathedral. But with him opening his trench coat, he looks like he's out to piss somebody off.

:cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::):):):):):cool::coo l::cool::cool::cool:

And that second building he climbed. . . all I can say is Ouchie! :p:p:p:p:p

Nice paintings all aroud!

Ahahah dear DAkey, florentines are possibly guilty for this mess, but we cannote exclude people from Livorno. Neighbors rivalries are common for Italian comuni or even villages, but in Tuscany they become particularly fierce. :o ;)
