Gary, this is a wonderful piece. I have seen these clouds of red dust when the farmers are ploughing on a windy day. Unfortunately they are losing valuable topsoil. :(

The 'cutouts' you have added make this a really eyecatching painting.

Of your skills for abstract and subject . The added scenes in the cutouts help me to feel the shifting nature of the sky and weather. I like it!

You would have shown up with this kind of thing when I was getting started in illustration, you would have gotten rich. Nice blend of invention and graphic design, not to mention the textures. I could have easily seen this gracing a corporate brochure. Of course if we had desktop computers with all this software back in those days we would have been richer than Daryl Gates.

Thanks so much for your very encouraging comments, they are a great motivator for me, I am enjoying exploring this mixture of the abstract ( colors and design ) and realism. D Akey, June and Marilyn Anne thanks so much!..

He's working hard and labouring under any weather conditions. I love this painting and the idea to have several kind of framed skyes. Pure genius and mastery. one of Your best one merging Your abstract skills for synthesi, textures, colors etc. and a real reference in a most surprising way. Land art avant-garde, abstraction and a real subject to merge into a masterpiece here.
