I mixed up a batch of the color sets I like to use, these are just a base to start with and most the time I can do a full painting based on these limited samples knowing that my color harmonies tend to work out. I have in each sample set a complimentary color to the others in the sample set allowing for very good color mixing and creating very nice accents and tones to add to the samples. These are similiar to the palettes I might mix up in traditional media for various given subjects. You can pick which will suit your work quite nicely and effectively at just a glance, I try very hard to keep from making sample sets that are unwieldy and difficult to use. Using these simple samples allows me a built in color harmony, I make these by picking a set of very high saturation colors and mix a bit of one color to each other color. So I might take red, blue, yellow, green, a white, and 2 darks (one warm and one cool both very near black) and then mix the red into each other color. After that I might add a slightly blued green to the sample set in addition to the pure white and either the warm or cool near black. That makes my entire palette for any given painting and varying the quantities of those colors in a painting gives huge variety. From any of these sets I can mix nearly any color I might need and know that it will suit my purposes for the painting (as every color is already mixed with one base color for the palette).

Hope they come in handy!

Thanks so much Delo - I have grabbed them all. Now I'll go and see what goodies I have - it's like getting presents.:cool:
