Every last one of Markw's foliage presets was used in the painting I created, trying them out. :D

In Preview, I rotated it right, duplicated it, and horizontally flipped that one. Opened each one in a Preview window,
matched them together, and took a screenshot of the interestlngly weird result. :D:D:D

Now to try doing that with the painting in ArtRage, with no line showing in the centre. :)

Wow, now that was a surprise. Certainly hadn't envisaged them being used like that Hinket!
Love the way people can see the different potentials in tools and then just run with it:cool:
Yes try another, as all that post manipulation could definitely be done in AR.

Nice job with this! You got the hard line in the center because things weren't perfectly matched up in the flip. The best way to alleve this is to put a 2-3 feather on your selection (I used 5 here) Although mine isn't nearly as detailed as yours.. it shows the idea (Plus I did it in about 3 mins).

I just made the selection.. feathered it by 5.. copied.. pasted.. flipped.. and moved it to align.

Hope that helps

David

PS - I know the colors are funky. just wanted to see some variation since this was playing around.. DO NOT adjust your monitors.. ROTFLOL!

Sorry to belabor the point.. but here's a real quick edit on yours.. same setting.. same technique.. selected just within the hard line area.... feathered by 5

Thanks, Markw,
Yeah, I'll try doing "as all that post manipulation could definitely be done in AR." that.

Though I wish one could also set AR to flip H and Mirror, or V and Mirror,
of course after having doubled the background in the appropriate direction,
thus having it automatically matched, centre, top and bottom.
Doing it myself, I find myself holding the laser mouse in a death grip,
pressed down way too hard, making it almost impossible to move that mouse!

Thanks for the helpful information, David.

I suck at selections.:D:D:D
Again it's the fierce gripping of the mouse that does me in. :o

I did one painting, (with 40 layers or more), where I practiced
selections in various ways, and then promptly forgot about them.
Never even noticed the feathering option! :D

And thank you so much for taking the time to show it on the painting!

Your painting gives a cool underwater effect. :)

I missed that foliage supply, but You certainly used it properly and elegantly!

This is very interesting, I can see a Van Goghy style being possible. Thanks to Hinket and MarkW.
