Very nice done :) ok, watercolor and airbrush for the flower and how did you made this cool paper/canvas?

Thanks - I applied a canvas grain to just that layer and coloured using the Paint Roller (speckled line prs). A stencil was used to control where I placed the paint.

I got my texture for making the grain from this site http://subtlepatterns.com/ It was Wave Cut on page 37. Beware! There are so many wonderful textures you will want them all.:)

Awesome texture resource and very cool painting. I haven't started trying to work with the watercolor media in ArtRage just yet, eventually though. . . after I refresh myself by watching some videos on how to paint with watercolors again, heh!

Very pretty. Looks like a leaf from some botanical illustrators' collections. The colors of the leaves especially are quite nice. Good one, June.

Delo - thank you and I'm glad you found the texture site useful. I love the watercolour presets in AR and experimenting with them is fun - I'll be most interested to see what you think of them - after your refresher course of course! :p

Gary - Some PS plugins work with PSP but I wasn't willing to part with cash to find out. I'm happy that it works for you - it would be so handy to be able to use the textures that way. Thanks for the kind words about my art piece - you have my permission to snag!;);)

Thanks DA - When we lived on our small property we were members of Trees for Life and grew many Aust. trees and shrubs from seed. I still have many reference books with beautiful prints such as these from which to get ideas.

Mr. Ploos - the trees can grow quite big - 15m - they are so colourful and each tree can vary in it's shades of red, coral, pink so you never know what you have until it starts flowering.

About the patterns - you can go thru the pages of patterns and download each one you like. Only one at a time I'm afraid. There's a couple of ways to use them as grains or canvases. The easiest would be to go to your layers and click on the box at the r/hand bottom of the layer which will open a menu - choose the one I've highlighted Edit Layer Texture. See S/shot. (You can't change the texture on the first canvas layer - it has to be a new layer).

Then you will see the next s/shot

if you click on the arrow it opens a context menu that lists Load from Disk. Then you have to navigate to where the pattern/texture was downloaded. On my computer it's Downloads. Or.....if you choose Paper Grains - the next one down - you will see this s/shot

click on Import you will go to where you saved the patterns and import them to the grains folder. If you click on Add Groupfirst you can make and name a folder for the new grains before you click on Import.

Of course other ways to use them would be to install in the grains and canvas folders in User Content but I think the above is enough for now - don't want to make it too confusing for you.

I would offer to parcel some up for you but I think it might go against copyright rules - anyone know???

Beautiful painting June~

The textures keep your eye moving around the piece over and over so nicely! That and the combination of the warm and cool colors just make this a joy to gaze at.. Terrific!
