Actually this is from my imagination but it's what I enjoy about living on an Island in North Queensland. I painted it after watching a tutorial about using the knife for mountains. I think it was by the Theatre Professor. Well, mountains, ocean ......

Fantastis and surrealistic to some extent, with the waves coming from two directions ... Very well executed too!

Lovely. Has a beautiful aquatic feel. Nice blueness.

On the other hand, I have to say that seeing waves so large breaking so far out, I want to head to high ground. Is there a reef out there or is this the product of just painting and letting it shape itself?

Super painting! I love the carved look. You've got some lovely paintings on here lately :D Hope it's not too hot for you up there, winter's coming though. I'm over it :)

thanks Caesar, Enug, D. Akey and Hildee.

Caeser I guess the direction of the small waves on the shore line are a bit surreal and rather exaggerated to an extent, but I just love the way that those little ones kind of form small currents and find their own "pathway", kind of following the drift of the sand sometimes. Often with those tiny crabs running this way and that.

D. Akey I thought about the size of that wave in the back ground :). But I kind of liked the stroke with the palette knife so I left it. I think it might be the reef that caused it, as we do live beside the Great Barrier Reef. No need to run for high ground yet as the tide hasn't "gone out" :D. I also did kind of let it shape it's self. I sort of knew what I wanted to achieve, but I was really wanting to experiment with the knife.

Hildee, I quite like the carved effect too. It's all "wet on wet" with the knife. Art Rage is really clever being able to simulate this isn't it. :D - I'm over this heat too. It's been a very hot summer. Roll on winter.

We're still in the high 20s and I've had enough :D Makes we wonder what sort of winter's coming.

Thanks for your nice comments Pat1940 and Koalablue.

Hildee we're still in the mid to high 30's with some days "feels like" temps (humidity) up in the 40's :(. Wish we were down there ;)
