View Full Version : A Tearful Eye

This was painted for a weekly "challenge" in a group, hence the fact there is just any eye :D. I just couldn't get those eyelashes right or to taper properly. After deleting them numerous times, I thought that they might be just fine :/

yeah it looks Vandra as if you've been crying after watching Dear John HOO ROO

Did you use tapering with smoothing and a bias value?

Very impressed with the limpid glassy aspects, and the volume/shading/texture/details of the whole eyeball - all realistic.

Vandra :) I kinda like the eyelashes the way you did them. It might be one of those "happy accidents" one can choose to use and push, instead of absolutely sticking to the straight version we were first aiming for. To me, these lashes could be real in an alternate reality or on another planet, or perhaps a future mutation right here on our spaceship Earth.

I wouldn't know where to start to get the fine tapering, so thank you Victor for the good tips. :)

Thanks everyone. It's great to hear your comments and ideas.
I'm so happy to have your settings for the pen Victor. Fantastic. Actually after I painted the eye, I started playing with the pen and realized that I should have played with it before. I actually ended up painting something with it with the eye as part of it. I will post it.
Thanks Rachelle for your ideas on where those lashes could have come from :) . I am going to post the painting I did, perhaps they did come from another planet after all :D
It was quite a challenge for me, trying to get that watery effect of someone crying D. Akey.
