Hello June.....A friend from Australia told me their called wanderer butterflies in your parts...I think that's more fitting then Monarchs, because they do get around!
Nicely done, going try to make some stencils myself for a painting I've been thinking about doing....
Take care friend,
Steve

Hi Steve I can't remember the last time I saw a Monarch/Wanderer in my garden - apparently they made it to my part of Oz in the late 1800's and became quite abundant but have since declined - one reason given is the eradication of milkweed.

BTW they have a Butterfly Garden in one of the terminals in Singapore Airport. They were sleeping when we were there.

Thanks Robyn, do you see any over your way?

I think most of ours are 'Painted Lady's, but I will look more carefully now. :)

A beautiful monarch came out of the great stencil June. I must look more carefully as I have lots of milkweed in my backyard

Feels stained glass-esque. Very appealing image. Certainly features the butterfly as the star of the show. Their black outlined segments sort of remind me of stained glass anyway, so it's not much of a stretch for me to go there. Very nice June! Your first Springtime offering. Has that kind of an iconic theme for me. :):):):cool:

Thank you Jean and Mr.DA - summer is fast approaching so perhaps I should make the most of spring.:)

A lovely little winged worm, as my wife calls them (she feels repulsion for any little kind of arthropodes, worm etc., but, being also seriously allergic to some kind of punctures, it's quite understandable).
