Well I certainly do enjoy the adventure...Love the balance of the two, I don't think it's going to break any time soon!
Don't know what your thoughts were when you painted it...all I know is...I really like it! Also I thought of 'Doorways', liked
it as well!
But found some music...

Even though the colors in the background and the foreground usually don't mingle in this "encounter" the h seme to communicate. cool

Cool, daddy-o. Like strips of expectations holding possibilities in check to be irrigated into the soup du jour. . . with some saltines. Crazy. . .

The nature areas seem to lift off the page! Bright and interesting! yes it does have that quality, I am not sure how it is doing that other that the edge and neutral tones play against the high key background and force the eye to keep adjusting for a focal point... a trick the op artists have employed for some time.

Steve this work was bit of a struggle, as I had the painting done but was dissatisfied with it, not real punch and seemed a bit boring. so after about 2 hours of messing around I finally came up with the bright background and just kept a couple of strips of the original work in the end I liked the overall statement and it seems to stretch my normal use of color into new areas... liked your musical link... thanks for that as well.

Even though the colors in the background and the foreground usually don't mingle in this "encounter" the h seme to communicate. cool  Thanks AndreaMG, any chance you can find the source image for this one? ... I bet it would be tricky to find. are you working in soft pastels yet? you will have to take some pictures and post them here for us when you do!. :):):)

The longer I look at it, the more I enjoy those extreme colour mixes! Interesting! Thanks Robyn. I lifted a page from op art and natural colors and made this mashup of a painting.

Haha, hem..., well... you obviously (masterfully) rendered the beautiful paper cranes at Fushimi Inari-Taisha Shrine in Kyoto while the two earth tones objects are clearly emas with prayers and wishes  PS Pastels and me wasn't love at first sight let put it this way :p Regards さようなら
