Hello, it's the first time I post a thread on here seeing as I've just joined the forum, the reason I'm posting a thread is because I'd like to show off the eye I've drawn earlier..
As you can(will) see, I'm a beginner but I've always been interested in pencil portraits therefore I'm taking it step by step.
Any comments/suggestions or replies on how I could improve the eye and make it more realistic would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forum. Just get a good image, as large as you can, of an eye and simply study it as you paint it. Practice until perfect...tj

welcome to ARtrage ! I am glad you joined the forum and sharing you drawing. You're very good if you're beginner. When I started to learn art, I just know keep splashing piants on canvas only..haha..and then just use palette knife to play with it. Isn't it fun using Artrage ? :D Keep posting :)

Welcome! Nice start. There are many tutorials on eye drawing all over the web. If You like a comix style which is nonetheless an effective and realistic way to draw figures and eye, I would advice the free videotutorials by Adam Hughes. He uses grey markers in few tones for sketching his characters.

Nicely done, my only comment would be that the iris should be perfectly round and if the eyelid cuts off any part of the iris then the outer edge of the iris at that point would not show.
When looking at your iris it gives the appearance of the eyelid compressing the iris.
Nice job on the eyelashes .
