Nice....The Shai-Hulud, just reread Dune a couple of weeks ago and watched Lynch's movie....Well, I didn't make it through it all the way.
Really like this, very well done!
Not too much spice now....
Take care,

Nice painting! Dramatic. Fantasy colors.

I listened to Dune in audio format unabridged and watched simultaneously the mini-series that they played over several days. It was a very rich experience. I would make sure to not get too far ahead with the story for both so I had the best of both worlds you might say -- the depth and explanation and language of the book, and also the fun and ease of the longer format of the miniseries on television. I dare say the old feature movie was poor, I thought. Didn't much care for it when it was first released because it was disjointed and they rarely attempted to make sense of why things were happening. And the beautiful layering of the societies and races and commerce and all that intrigue in the book was lost on it.

Anyway, this painting gets the awe and wonder of a key story element. Good job!

So beautiful. It really reminds the movie a lot and always my favorite one since I first watched it. It stays in my memory. Very brightful refreshing painting with that sunlight and color. :)

Isn't it funny how we all remember that movie? That big booger coming out of the sand and causing havoc. Thanks for the memories, and a good painting!
