I painted this house in Liege with ArtRage in a Summer and Winter version (the Winter version is created from the Summer version with Photoshop). You can visit the place as well with Google Maps Street View:

So beautiful painted. I like both version. Really hard to pick as the season and color represented so differently the way you painted them. Nice to see your work again, Briex :)

Both marvellous with a vague Edward Hopper flavour in Your style. The only fun observation I have is that the sky is strangely the same in both seasons there.

I prefer the summer version - the image seems to have picked up reflected light from the yellow foreground. I like the brightness of this painting and the detail in the buildings.

brilliant work Briex, I never thought of visiting foreign places via street view of Google , but it makes sense.. thanks for recycling your tutorial on your process it is very instructive. do you give digital art lessons? I bet a lot of people would flock to them...I know I would for sure..:cool:

Fantastic paintings.

So you've been doing real world paintings a lot then? How does working on the computer with ArtRage affect those paintings? How do you use it, if at all? Planning an approach to a painting, or practice for your eye or something like that?

Long ago, and I mean way back when the computer was young, I tried painting from the screen but since it was luminous and my paints weren't, it left me feeling like it didn't work. ArtRage, with its similarity to natural media, did not yet exist. So I'm curious how you're finding they relate -- digital to real world?

I remember some of your AR paintings were very much looking like real oil paintings.
