Please forgive the faces as I am not very good at that, but I did enjoy painting this, oil and a few layers

Really lovely Pat! I can see your enjoyment painted onto the canvas. :)

I'm loving it! Very joyful view of the easy life of privilege in the 1700s.

But Goya? Wow. I never thought he did paintings of this nature. I had always seen the heavy somber stuff he did -- wartime atrocities and gods eating their young and such.

By contrast, this is doubtless from a moment when things were at peace. And I wouldn't mind being their with paint and canvas myself.

Very nice rendition, Pat. Really good painting on your part. You're getting back warmed up after your being away. Go girl go!

Just looking at it, I can tell you enjoyed painting it Pat!
And I like the the faces, you did a great job... it's a happy
painting. I think Goya would have like it as well.... couple of
nights ago saw a movie called 'Goya's ghost', interesting!
Take care,

Really nice. Love the colours, and the feeling of real media. I can almost smell the turpentine. :) Quite a lovely scene.

You did a great job interpreting Your way, but also respectful of the original, one of the greatest painting masters, including the faces I'd say. Congratulations!

Hi Pat,, I tried a bunch of times to leave a post but my browser kept acting up and not posting my comments. I love this I think you captured a the light and cheerful feeling of this without over working the brushwork. I especially like the simple but effective bushes in the background... you did a really nice job on this.:cool::cool:
