I thought I would do something totally different, and had a play with a mermaid. Quite pleased and will print it out for the Warragul Artist Market tomorrow, even though time is very short!

I quite like her head and hair.

....and my clownfish! :)

Hello Robyn,
Seems you've had a rare opportunity to get up close to one?
They're not often seen, and very hard to catch up to, and I've been told
they will only play with people they like. I think she's a beautiful creature,
and I think her little friends are really cool as well!
I'm quite pleased too!
Have fun tomorrow,
and take care!

A fine orange and turquoise palette for this follow on of Nemo movie ...:o

Thanks Steve and Caesar! The orange and turquoise really pops, and looks much nicer when it's printed up. For a change, I needed to lighten it up as the monitor didn't quite match the light/dark, so a couple of proofs needed throwing out. Usually the match is perfect.

A bit of fantasy over a couple of really hot days, so the water theme was very cooling, plus the air con is just overhead! It might end up in a small girl's room for Christmas, who knows?

I really like this, great colours and absolutely love the hair floating around in water - great effect. Like the addition of the little fish too, they add a bit of sparkle :]

Now that's a mixed franchise if I've ever seen one. The Little Mermaid's Finding Nemo. Never should have drunk that grog she pulled from Davey Jones' locker that said clearly on the label that it's strong enough to put some barnacles on yer chest. . . er, I mean locker. . . I believe she misread the warning label and thought it would stimulate her social life.

It's a fine painting. But I never thought you would stoop to doing a clown painting, Copespeak. Something fishy in that.

I rather dislike clowns . . . Unless they are fish . . . Very nice!!!

This is so nice Robyn, love the fish, well done:)

Maniac, yes it's funny how lots of people don't like clowns. I guess it's because they paint the face up a bit sad and funny altogether, so you can't quite see what they're thinking.

Mr Akey, yes mixed franchising is right, though I chose the clown fish because of the complementary colours. Of course clown fish are actually quite small, and though we've never met a mermaid, she should have been larger in proportion than that, but it would have lost the impact, so what the hell, I thought, it's my painting!

Thanks Katie, Niloc, Geoff and Jean, I had fun doing it, especially the red hair floating. I could just picture it in my mind.

People in the market who know me said, 'Oooh that's not what you usually do!!', but they sold anyways. Good fun.

Nicely done Copespeak! Looks good as usual. Her air in particular is very well rendered... make me wanna swim!
