Really, really nice Pete. I love the random lines and mystery of it!

I can intuitively see the face of that illustrious painter and hidalgo ...

Thanks for the very kind comments on my iPhone pencil sketch tribute to Weeks, whose work always is an inspiration ...

I've attached another also done on the iPhone which uses the same technique, but with very different results :) This is called "On the Black Hill" -- it's the title of a novel by the famous British traveler-novelist, Bruce Chatwin ... But the painting refers just to the title, not the content, of his brilliant work ...

I like this last addition very much. Texture, Tonal Range, Shapes and Palette make of it a charming whole.

Thanks, Caesar ... The tiny star needed its own layer:)

Hey Pete!
Interesting thing about the last pic for me, I was attending a film festival in the late eighties and viewed a film of that name!
Can't remember it at all, and not much of a book reader.
But I do like your painting!
Take Care Friend,
Steve

P.S. I predate the 'Talking Heads'!

Hi Steve, I guess I'm one of those rare people who read the book but didn't see the film :) And hey, we've outlasted the Talking Heads, hehe ...

I understand your painting ChinaPete, a beautiful depiction. I look forward to reading this story.

... I look forward to reading this story.

Hi Alexandra, do you mean Chatwin's On the Black Hill? He has a painter's eye, but I'm afraid the writing may be a little too noir for you ... If you do read it, though, you'll find that the twin lights in my painting have something to do with the main characters :)

Reminds me of those very long time lapse
photos of the night sky. Neat image.

Hadn't thought of the time lapse, but I can see what you mean ... The novel of the same title compresses eighty years in the lives of two brothers, Welsh twins, into a few hundred pages, and also has that time lapse feeling, but I didn't have that in mind ...

The last painting looks a little like you are sitting in a dark train looking out as the trees rush by. Always mysterious Pete. I do like this one a lot.
