You're too kind, dear Andrea, I was just making a portrait excercise and an attempt to explain why "You know Whom" became so maleficent, which kind of complex affects him. Beg Your pardon for the last goals parade. It was a lousy Allegri trick who told the player it was just a training session (to improve their hits score) Thank You!

Thank you, dear Robyn! I'm just a self-taught amateur and visual joker, but I'm glad You may get a smile from my silly form of creativity and humor which is not exactly British understatement, rather Italian weird, mocking storytelling ...:o;)

Dear Andrea, look at what we've got too in Italy, Tuscany! I didn't know and it's another unique, top class, incredible beauty and who modified and refurbished this ancient castle this way was an unbelievably endowed guy!

http://buonenotizie.corriere.it/2014/11/11/il-castello-segreto-e-il-tesoro-leggendario/

Just a pity most of our friends in here don't speak Italian to read this article.

As for the images of the castle and its park:

Thank you for the link, what a unique castle! I would expect to find something similar for certain aspects in Sicily not in Tuscany :o Really cool  Reminds me a bit of "Hameau de la Reinehe", I would define it as "toy architecture" :D Glad that they are taking care of it. You have to know that I did the civil service at the superintendence of the architectural assets and I also did some guided tours at the Royal Palace, one day an Architect who worked there took us to take a look at some locations that were closed to the public where the windows where broken and the pigeons where free to roam among paintings and furnishings worth thousands of euros piled one over the other like a pile of junk  Really hope we finally understand to take care of our treasures, because once they're gone they're gone forever.

Ugh! That's horrible the way they treat treasures, and they are really treasures. I think over here in the USA we would regard what many over in Italy see as just a cluttered closet, we would revere. . . at least people with cultivated tastes. But conservation takes money, doesn't it, and money seems to be the only criterion for so many things that 'ought to be' respected better.

I remember a year or two (or a couple more, seeing as I have no concept of how much time is passing anymore), there was a scandal in which come woman took it upon herself to "restore" a mural in a church or monastery, I think it was in Spain. And she could paint at the level of a second grade kid. Horribly inept, and she painted right over this beautiful old fresco that was in total disrepair. She had been given authorization from the rector, who clearly had no idea what it was she was intending, nor did he seem to care until it made world news. I have seen churches in Paris where they did nothing to care for the wonderful frescoes and the plaster was bubbling and flaking and essentially the fresco style paintings were disappearing from zero care. I don't know if it was just paint over the walls as opposed to proper frescoes, but they were very nice paintings at one time. No more. Also that particular church, St. Merrie's, had had to convert their convent or rectory living quarters into a public hotel -- built long ago onto the side around and through the flying buttresses. I stayed in that hotel and actually banged my head on the flying buttress arch top that pierced my room. . . not many people can say that they banged their head on the underside of the arch of a flying buttress except for maybe a giant or a gargoyle, but I have that distinction.

Anyway, the point is there's no funding, it would seem. And the actual church people probably attended to the big stuff like the structure and the very visible bits that the tourists see. And like a beggar with leprosy or something, the crumbling, disappearing paintings may serve to fill the begging bowls of the church itself, whereas if it was all perfect, nobody would feel the need to donate anything. Those church boys, if they know anything, it's about how to get donations. 2000+ years of practice.

The other irony about the old stuff in Italy, when I was visiting Florence and some other famous tourist areas, I was struck by the layering of history, and all that was on display was the old old stuff. They were not even allowed to dig to lay a new cable, and having wires all over sort of spoiled the ancient effect. And the contemporary artists didn't stand a chance competing with the giants of art from the Renaissance and so on. . . not to mention the Roman Empire times. It's hard to live in the present when your whole world is taken up by the distant past. It has to be hard living in a museum. So I can see it both ways. But yes, they ought to preserve treasures until that time that they know what to do with it all.

I loved my visits to Europe. And I was so grateful to have seen all that history in evidence. But my heart still went out to the contemporary artists. I also am very impressed that you participated in those programs you mentioned. Gives a distinct perspective on things, doesn't it.

Thank you Dear Alexandra :cool::cool:

Thank you Dear D, money sure is a problem but we can certainly improve in making more money with art based tourism :o The story about the "restore" woman reminded me of incidents that are more and more frequent in modern art exhibitions and it's always fault of the cleaning men who clearly don't have the sensibility to understand that a piece of biscuit on the floor or a dirty window are art pieces on display :o:rolleyes:

Hello Andrea....Fearless Princesses, my daughters always loved them....Is she based on Merida? Don't see the fiery red hair streaming in the air....I like this piece very much, love the fragmented colors and how you've controlled their destinies with the blade of your knife....such as this Princess is capable of doing to any who oppose her with the edge of her sword....not that I' am putting her in a warrior role.....
...A piece of biscuit on the floor or a dirty window are art pieces on display As for my gallery...my sister visited, her dog immediately ran in and ate the piece of biscuit on the floor...Sister saw the windows and asked "How can you see through those....walked over.. rubbed and changed the whole perspective of my glass art and said "There, that's better"....Anyway, my gallery is closed with a sign on the door that reads...'Closed during restocking and inventory'...
Beautifully executed my friend!
Take care,
Steve

Dear D Akey, we had also quite a lot of modern and great comntemporary artists, and a gallerist too In new York in the recent past , if You know who i mean, but most of the best ones were successful only abroad, in general, or kept unknown by most people or by the market. The problem is who rules and administate our conuntry, alas, and the decadence spirit we left only in short periods, like in the 50ies and 69ies or, no general approval thereabout, during fascism. Financial resources are obviously an additional problem, to that of devouted care and good organisation, since if it's true that we have got in Italy 50-60% or more worth of the whole world art surviving patrimony (from the past at least), it means we would need half of the world art restoration resources to cope with all valuable we've got around in any corner. The only good news, even with scarcer and scarces fundings, is that we have a true excellence as for restoration of classical artpieces, frescoes, statues, paintings etc. both from an artisanal and technological standpoint and regrettable episodes like that happened in Spain aren't known, at least for masterpieces. The real pain is for what happens or happened and how are and were managed absolute wonders such as Pompei's excavations or Caserta's Royal Palace.

Dear Andrea, You revived the Divisionismo with Your personal new form of it in the Fearless Princess!

Glad you liked it!! You have to believe me, the story of the biscuits is true!!!

I personally think, screw it, the 'artist' showed the caliber of art they were aiming for as rubbish, so the correct specialist should be brought in to restore it -- someone proven to be sensitive to the artist's original intent, value for value. . .

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-19349921

She's pretty booked up but for the right price they might be able to get her.

I'm sorry, it sounds like insurance fraud to me. The clever gallery owners knew this kind of story would get lots of publicity, plus a few bucks extra in an insurance claim. . . Brought to you by the legal firm, specializing in. . . well the name says it all: Whines, Wynn, & Phukkum :p:rolleyes:

Despite it being quite a feather in the fine artisan's cap, I noticed that the 'artist' was not named. Gee. . . Take the money and run, baby. . . Your career is assured.

Brilliant! These are really exciting techniques. I know this isn't the case of how you painted them, but in a way it feels like I'm uncovering these ladies looking through glass, the second on a rainy day with the droplets on the glass between us. And the first one feels like wipers in heavy rain is on the glass between, as if taking your ATV for a drive on Mount Olympus and ran into some weather.

I love these. And I don't mean to diminish the quality of these as painting styles. They're exciting and seem to be the culmination of the many variations you've done before in this direction. They seem confident and assertive. Well done Andrea.:cool::cool::cool::cool:

The only "tricks and tips" techniques I'd bet on are the loaded sharp and the last mode of the knife. How you keep control of the outlines and of smooth color transitions are still not fully understood as yet. I may say though that You paint heavenly and ... faithfully towards your selected semi-goddesses among whom, alas, You still didn't find the Victory against Juve ... eh,ehe. anyway congrats to Toro and a wishful hope it will be a grande Torino pretty soon, since it gathered far less than it deserved in too many cases and Ventura is a great man, not only a masterful coach.

I'm using mainly brushes and loaded knifes. For the "splatter effect" I use the last knife on the right wich reacts differently according to the amount of paint on the canvas. Thank you

Thank you  The smooth color transitions are achieved alternating brushes and loaded knives. I recently bought a Wacom Intuos Pro Large which allows me to have better control and now I rarely zoom in, this is a great help because you do not lose the focus on the entire picture, it becomes really similar to paint with a real canvas (I use a 27" screen in portrait mode). As far as the Torino is concerned let's hope for the future, the coach is surely good even if sometimes a bit too much passionate :o

Dear Andrea, another fantastic portrait example duo. You set up a style which looks like an exceptional mix of a realistic/impressionistic painting and Sabena's geometric/ factorization style.

Thank you Dear Cesare, I'm trying to combine realism with a few abstract elements plus all those crazy knives effects, I will try to stay on this path for next paintings :o

You do find some remarkable source photos, I must say. Very good starting points.

Thank you, starting with a great reference half of the work is done, sometimes it literally takes me hours to find the right image, funny thing is that one day I might find an image not particularly interesting while another day I might find the same image inspiring. When I look at a picture I only look for composition, the actual painting comes to life while I paint and this is a good thing, it is always discovery process, and always very immersive and even transcending I might say :o

Dear Andrea, with You as a model I notice an improvement, from a geometric standpoint, in the shape of th nose which looks perfect, maybe less personal and unique than that of Avril, who like Cleopatra has a quite important, though graceful, protuberance, but certainly a good reference for a mass production by a plastic surgeon. And what's exceptional is that it was done in a sketched manner. It may be that there is extra potency in this technique because it's not fully rendered -- similar to the apparent intention of using your broad brush stroke style as well.

A page from Pygmalion's notes. You find the telling features and aim the eye right there. Bravo! This one's not only breathing, she's hooking and reeling us in.:cool::cool::cool::cool:

Hello Andrea.....Grace Kelly, I fell in love with her after seeing 'Rear Window' and it was confirmed the next year with 'To catch a thief', I obviously was very young when I saw these movies....but she left a lasting impression with me....
I think I feel a 'Movie Night ' developing here....I really like the method and techniques you used with this one...Nicely done friend!

I'm so old I was able to see "La notte dei morti viventi", one of the first ever zombie movie probably if not the absolute first one. I'm pretty sure evolution occurred to zombies too in recent movies as it was the case of Marvel Heroes, werewolves, mythological characters and all the rest of the updated, stars&striped, latest-fashoned, gothicized new movie versions. I just hope they diddn't get too psychologically insightful with zombies and/ or found that zombies too, like vampires, are now kind, tender, gentle, vegan, romantic and sloppy good guys as well, otherwise I'd rather stick to the latest series of Dylan Dog where, as updated, innovative, modern and tragic as iits story actually is, zombies go on making their dirty job!

What a cool technique! Contrast is always interesting. The goddesses you paint are by nature smooth, and to present them in a different way and yet retain their silky texture is a magic trick. I think in our minds if a girl looks like she ought to have the qualities associated with that look (soft and smooth and smell good and all that), that our minds will naturally go there almost in spite of the way the paint is applied. This presents the viewer with an interesting internal adjustment in our minds. You're like an actor reciting lines placing emphasis in different spots in his delivery to see how it changes the meaning. It's a refinement of one's voice.

Super cool as always. Very happy to see your work again. Always fun having an audience with the goddess.

Laura Chiatti would be fine for Your next effort, I think, so I keep watching! There would be also enough stuff to enjoy apart from her beauty.
Cristiana Capotondi, on the contrary, is probably the oldest teenager in the world, I guess, as a look at least. In a way I would fear that appreciating her may be a sort of para-pedophilia, so I really cannot feel her sex-appealing, on the other side she seems really too fragile, diaphanous and delicate, more and more as the time passes ... but looking at Your selected goddesses I think that's a great value for You instead.
As for Mario do Nascimiento I would consider him sould I sell some fake medical concoction in the old wild west (and Your artworks are all but fake ones) or to collect money from incapable of consent people, certainly not as a muse. What a great series of strokes. I quite like the geometry of it. The colors are, as always, very subjective and draw some very specific associations for me that probably others would not have. But they are colors that government institutions and military hospitals used in the 1950s. So it has an odd contrast between freedom and control. It's like working one's individuality within a tight formation. It's like young Diebenkorn got drafted and had to serve his time out. I have no idea whether he was in the military or not, but I was in my youth and this is sorta how I experienced it -- tightly channeled and directed with the occasional sideways skid.

Needless to say there's the association with aerial photography -- a Google kind of thing regarding the structure. The mark of civilized Man in a way.

Cool, whatever your intention was. Great knife work.

Thank you Dear D, the title was a bit of a joke, I used a title for the work without a connection to the piece just for being silly and then I found it once done, it might represent the flow of memories in neural cells being pushed up by those two lines which are like two invisible arms that convey those memories, you can't really put arms around memories but you can definitely feel them :o But it coul easily be some military post from bird view as well :o Thank you for comparing it to Diebenkorn, I didn't knew him, but I have to say I like his works, they look very intriguing even the portraits with that massive posterization

What a glorious painting. To begin with here in the painting, she's beautiful -- which is immediately captivating. But then all that interesting brushwork gone into the hair, a queen would be honored to wear such a crown. I think what I like about it is the soft edged work built over by more and more chiseled strokes -- which psychologically could represent many women, especially beautiful ones who must constantly have the world reaching for them. But then that contradiction often makes them all the more alluring because the game is afoot -- not to be confused with "a foot", which is a whole other game. But I digress --

The other thing is that going from crude to refined in a work of art, whether painted or sculpted, is a very effective device in that it creates a movement into the refined area -- like one's awareness of something in the world suddenly coming into focus. Very active painting.

Anyway, love the colors, shapes, and stylization. A bit of the goddess, or at least her majesty.

You refined and distilled Your natural approach into a most sophisticated and elegant style, where passion and feelings are somehow muted and controlled into a canon, but kept alive and powerful in their understatement. You set up a new, personal canon, to say in one word what DAkey seemed to imply in his comment to Your abstract painting, which can be applied to any kind of genre and subject as your own signature. Congrats!
I would thank DAkey also for introducing Dieberkorn, who actually seems not to be too much known on this side of the Atlantic Ocean, but certainly has many interesting points, because in his abstract expressionism and in his more realistic works he seems to take also some of Edward Hopper, lessons in my view, thus the US soul and art conception in a way, which, somehow, works around the American dream, what it is about and what's its implementation, I think. I confess though that I'm probably wrong because I'm ignorant and I never saw his intriguing paintings before ...

A lovely painting. As i am new to drawing and painting i use references so that i can understand shapes and light and shadow. If i find an image particularly difficult i will trace a little to get the proper proportions. I don't like tracing and would love to be able to paint from imagination. Perhaps practice will allow this. Once again, excellent painting.

Ah so good to hear from you AndreaMG!... another beauty I like the work in more neutral tones to provide the contrast to the face with of course your brilliant brush work! SUPER!:cool::cool::):):)

Thank you Dear Gary glad you like it! :):):)

Awesome work ! The contrast between fine details of the face and large brushstrokes of the hair is perfect ! My only crit would be about you signature that I personally find a bit too big compared to the canvas size. Keep'em coming ! ;)

Merci beaucoup Yoann :o you're so right that signature it's too big and it even makes appear the picture smaller. Ciao Vive la France! :D

Thank you so much :o, my advice is to paint from real life (even if I do not do that).

I really like the paint effects around the area you took farther -- in other words, that drippy watercolor bit feels really authentic to me as part of the lay-in process.

Haha thank you my dear friend, Artrage always surprises me as well on how it sometimes make things look so real :D CIAO

Mah ....

Cmq Toro almeno in UEFA league alla prossima, mi raccomando!

This is my take on one of Sargent's early works, model was Carmela Bertagna who was also portrayed in a self-titled picture. She looks more like a bride to me than a beggar but different times different fashions I guess :o Funny thing is that I found out that it looks like he was pretty obsessed with some of his models (that's the reason that they came out so well), for instance he literally begged the beautiful social climber Madame Pierre Gautreau to be painted by him in what came out the "scandalous" "Madame X" painting :):) Cheers

It's such a great painting on so many levels. I love the colors and especially the long lines using your skill at expressive strokes. Really has an Orientalism spin like so many of the realist paintings from the late 1800s or there about. What is more, she looks like an angel posing as a beggar. Some of us are able to see that for real. Compelling to see it in a painting. Gives it power and mystery.

The only thing that I might suggest is that the angle of her begging arm/hand resolves where it connects to the shoulder a little more anatomically correct. I have no idea what your source image looks like, and this may be accurate to it, to my eye it looks a little detached or hyper-flexed.

Anyway, I really love this image. Thanks for posting. I like the foray into this kind of story telling and costume. You're nailing it. Good to see your work again, Andrea!

Que bella! Nice fix Andrea. Also very good to have posted Sergent's version as well so I know what you were looking at. I like your interpretation. Yours is more structured and simplified like the lines in certain classic streamlined automobiles. She looks a little Art Deco, but still quite natural. Are you an engineer or designer by any chance?

Sometimes your work has a flair for practical efficiency to your marks where there are long lines to them. I also remember that you like the American illustrator J. C. Leyendecker and regularly employ some of his artistic flair. The heroic nature of his models work especially when elevating a particularly beautiful divine creature -- your very own Beatrice.

Anyway, very well done and its' good to see you coming back around. I suspect Mr Ploos gets sick of just me echoing in his thread and at the very least your presence is something of an inspiration to him as you have a way to stir the creative pot.

Hehe thank you Dear D, I actually didn't know (or ar least I didn't remember of) J. C. Leyendecker, I checked some of his work, which of course is very 20s in its vibe, I am no expert but I think he used oils with a lot of dark outlines, angles and hatching in a way that they resemble pastels, cool stuff, so glad some of my works connect to his :). Wow! These are so stylish magazine culture. Really emote personality and even walking art forms manifesting well beyond the framework that mere mortals exist within. I feel like they really speak of that social, on-the-town style. Olympian, though their mountaintops are many. These fabled types live in magazines and movies, and only rarely come into the real world. But when they do, it's like all eyes are pulled to their every move, their every detail. Back in the 20s and 30s Hollywood was working overtime to create 'stars' through all kinds of publicity. And when those stars made a live appearance, everybody gasped that they really did exist. These have that kind of feel.

Your technique changes occasionally, but the feel is always right there. Love it. I really love the elegance of your marks, even when it's seemingly after going wild, it always seems on purpose for an effect. Example is this last girl with the blue splotches showing through like an old Greek bronze sculpture might, only you're doing it with bright colors. Really cool. And I love the fast lines you include in so many of these. It's like catching something that moves faster that we do.

Thank you Dear Cesare, I do not trace nor overpaint, I "simply" block in and gradually refine the various elements (most of the time I work painting upside down to keep the mind fresh and clear ). Since I totally suck at lineart I paint and then add the outlines later on to give that particular graphic look. Here below the references I used. CIAU ne (Torino capitale d'Italia X)

Thank you Dear D, maybe the outline give the painting that peculiar look

I don't know if it's a language thing, but the word "peculiar" is not what I intended to imply. That implies something a little distasteful. Not at all. I actually think your stuff is masterful and I believe that direction of simplification is an evolution for some artists. I think of Mondrian's paintings, not because your stuff will ever become so devoid of subject, but because he started out painting trees and ended up where he did.

I love the precision of your marks where you have mastered larger strokes to say a lot filling the images with surprise and delight just observing how cleverly you managed an area. And that's most often a vision that forms from lots of doing. It's very hard to just jump straight into that kind of editing because for you it makes sense. For copyists it would be quite elusive.

So press on! Your painting style is captivating in that it is walking a tightrope between jazzy marks and the beautiful subjects without losing the allure of the models from distilling the vision.

Eheh Thank you for the compliments Dear D, you're far too generous :). In Italian peculiare (i.e. "peculiar") not necessarily has a negative meaning, it depends on the context I guess, It may mean "odd", "eccentric", "strange", "out of place", "bizarre", but also "original", "characteristic", "unique", "cool"

Back on topic I don't know if in the upcoming paintings I will use outlines and sharp edges so much, I might even consider to call it quits with a study of one of Leyendecker's "peculiar" (in the good way ) paintings :):o;):D CIAO

Got to love Leyendecker's style. I think one of the things you're doing which is a very good thing is that you are working to focus the attention on stylishness. To become tied in as being the eye onto a particular era or class or whatever ties you in with that same group. There was a whole lot of style back in the 20s and 30s for sure. Nowadays there doesn't seem to be the same kind of clarity since there are so many diverse images being tossed into the world anymore. But if one can manage to become the eyes or interpreter of a movement, it will anchor you into that same slot -- which is larger than one artist.

I think one has to actively connect them together with consistency. I mean you already have been for a long while targeting a group of celebrity and fashion. Might be worth a letter or two to those who are closer in to that look who might get you exposure in that context -- nothing to loose, right?

Go Andrea Go!!!!!!!

in your new works especially "I am not THAT shy" I think your more restrained brushwork and the background where the two edges are not so sharp

found a new source of inspiration I think it is hard sometimes to find that even though there is such availability of work via the Internet. I also have

Hi Everyone. This is my first work with ArtRage (previously I used procreate+ipad). It's done with intuos pro m in 8 hours (no tracing). I had some trouble with her hair so I went to the stylized route :p
EDIT: I was not happy with my first painting so I heavily modified it, first of all I cheated using the transformation tools to get more correct proportions :p, then I used a lot of frost knife and airbrush tools on her face to achieve maximum realism and finally I redid entirely her hair... Elegant. The simplification of the various bits makes for a really strong design, because it distills the details down to general shapes that can then be arranged into very clear geometry. It's a great way to present a figure and the details and painted effects do not clash. They in fact enhance the quality of the other end of the style.

You're showing how less is more, in your own way, without reducing it to a clunky Bauhaus primitive design. It's like a short, stylish poem this way.

Oh, and no, I'm nowhere near that troublesome dam. It's at least 400+ miles away. Nice of you to ask.

Haha thank you Dear D!!!!!:o:):o;):)

Just to make a bit of exercise I tried to mimic as much as possible the original oil painting and in the process I hope I learned a bit from that artist.

Anyway, here is the original one in all its glory:

You've achieves some affects here with the interaction of impasto and appearance of canvas that I did not think were possible with ArtRage... care to share any tips?

Sure, the impasto effect is obtained both over the canvas or under it with the intent of adding more realism without worrying too much about messing the painting, the interaction with the impasto is achieved with pastels I think :)

An old one a bit tweaked in order to have a mach the contrast and palette of the others; I also cropped/expanded all my other paintings to the 4:5 aspect ratio with the same purpose  Oh I also integrated some textures to make it more interesting (I saw this artist http://www.mattiassnygg.com/tutorials/artrage/artrage.htm doing it and liked very much the effect :o)

I don't know Your model here, but this painting and style is really .... shabby-chic, I'd say!
I love very much the support looking like an antiqued, stained, sort of vellum or coarse tracing paper.

ooh , she looks deadly with that thoughtful glance. I like the dry glazing you did in the light neutral tone, I have been attracted to the the idea recently, using more neutral tones to offset small amounts of bright color.... that concept must be traveling in the ether right now:rolleyes::rolleyes::cool::cool::cool:

Imogen Poots! WOW what a deliciously onomatopeic name, like a car klakson sound coming from gently squeezing her tits ... LOL;):o Actually I've never been too much politically correct and worried to erroneously seem direspectful and machist.

What a great face. Those eyes especially look natural in this stylized, painterly painting.

Remarkable ability to get them to breathe through the gauze of the paint style. Very vital.

Full maturity of style and art now. It's time for a public exhibition of Your paintings (prints), maybe also a tour and a place in Rome too ...

Awesome work. Your subjective sense of what makes a female face beautiful is remarkably close to mine... or those are just some incredibly beautiful people to everyone.

Had a crazy thought. Feel free to discard if it is not useful to you. I see that you tend to use reference photos of real people... and they are all very stunning, but reality has its constraints....

A little backstory: Around the time of the release of the Lord of the Rings movies I was playing with image morphing software... and it struck me... in the books Galadriel (played by Cate Blanchett) and Arwen (Liv Tyler) are related... Galadriel being Arwen's grandmother. Out of curiosity I decided to take a screen grab of Arwen's face and one of Galadriel's face, and generate a 50-50 image - morphing software morphs both color information and geometry - to create a NEW face which is an actual exact average between the originals... a face which lies directly between the two. It was a nice face, clear and realistic, although because the "parents" are so familiar, my mind kept going back and forth, "it looks like Liv... but it looks like Cate... but it looks like Liv". I have on a few occasions done this again combining two faces when I think they would make an interesting "cross". The new faces were always interesting and even when I used more than 2 (combined one set of 2 and another set of 2 to make an average of 4) the results were always a "convergence" of the set... lying inside the "face space" defined by them - the averaging process cannot create outliers- which is a good thing since I liked the original faces.

So to wrap up... if you have a few favorite faces, perhaps on either side (in face space) of an ideal face, or are just looking for ways to create reference faces which inspire you, morphing software (there are free ones which are quite effective) is one way you can predictably and reliably create your own new and original faces (not as restrained by reality) for references.

Haha grazie carissimo @Cesare, sto solo imparando e noto che i disegni che scarto una volta iniziati sta aumentando, è un buon segno??:o;) Ciau ne

Thank you @DarkOwnt, that's a cool idea for sure but I need a connection with what I paint so it's a no go, however I often diverge from the original shape of the faces but that's caused by my brain filtering what I see and what I like, that's maybe why I often tend to draw eyes so far apart ^___^. Anyways thanks for the suggestion, it is an interesting way of "crafting" people :D

make for a very creative and successful painting!..
