These are great and I really like them all for different reasons but my favourite is the second one:)

09-20-2013, 02:32 AM
Thanks a lot coops! I like the second as well, it has a lazy, sleepy, relaxed feeling. I will probably make it into a real painting. Thats just a study after all.

New one is coming at wacom.json.mondo.db... thanks for looking and sharing thoughs...

I like your calculations! Very illustrative. Beauty shots in the landscape department. . . even the beauty shot of the sci-fi theme.

09-20-2013, 03:02 AM
very Good Paintings and i like the lights and colors:rolleyes:

09-20-2013, 03:57 AM

Thanks a lot guys and gals! I try to keep mood interesting. And of course light is crucial. It takes a lot of effort, but hopefully the final results are worth it. Here is a variation on the subject (supported by watir := ruby => variation.set 'dusk')...

"Rio at dusk"

Thanks a lot justjean! Portraits are a good exercise and experimentation field. Good for brain flexibility as per

10-02-2013, 01:00 AM
Thanks a lot guys for the feedback!!! Much appreciated! Still mastering new Artrage. Seems like a lot of good features coming in version 4. I would like to see one or two more to make it perfect!

"Dave"... stop... stop Dave... I feel much better now... will you stop Dave...?

"Who is crazy, Jack?"... work in progress. I have good feeling about this project. The question in the title should be really only rhetorical...

That is so great of Jack Nicholson! Hahaha. Brilliant expression captured. And the sproingy lines really add to the suggestion of madness.

Also love the one of Dave and HAL9000 from 2001 with the rather calm effect that reflected his tone in dealing with HAL. Gotta love the media for providing familiar faces we can all find in common and appreciate one's adeptness at capturing likenesses and attitudes.

What can I say, also the Asian lady. . .

10-13-2013, 12:57 AM
Thanks a lot D Akey, kenmo and Caesar!!! Drawing well known people is fun and sure satisfaction if the effort can bring correct guess and some memories. And its a good test of drawing skills ;] ... hope you have fun with this one... it was a challenge...

Here we are: "Who is crazy... Jack?"

I like your employment of various colors in a rather narrow value range which keys it within a certain spectrum both of values and saturation. In that way it's not unlike the picture of the girl who is also as controlled, only in a different color range. This one (also) holds the form very well and this is a very plausible painting where I have a pretty good idea that it looks like him owing to the apparent control you have. Very good painting.

Terrific portraits!

Wonderful - really appeals to the sculptor in me. When I visited Paris, I enjoyed the paintings, but I was floored by the marble sculptures. This is wonderful to see -- a painting of (to me) a sculpture.

Well done!

01-06-2014, 05:49 PM
All your paintings are wonderful but do love that one of Susan , so wild, free and colourful :D

01-07-2014, 03:11 AM
I visited your gallery now and ..... congratulations for the beautiful paintings, portraits and landscapes both:)

01-07-2014, 04:16 AM
A big applause for Your excellent artpieces!

01-11-2014, 02:40 AM
Thanks a lot guys for so many comments!

White marble sculpture can be really pleasing for an eye... and difficult to draw, because limited hi-key shades and sub-surface light scattering in translucent stone.

On the other hand a very lazy "Lizard" in a zoo is not that hard... ;)

01-11-2014, 10:41 PM
Not that hard perhaps, but very appealing all the same. Lovely works from start to finish - I like your style very much.

Never knew a lizard with so much personality before -- big on body language. With being that flopsy, it would make a great stuffed animal. Really communicative image using a sketchy style that adds all the more to the impression of a personality like he could live at Pooh Corner.

01-12-2014, 07:56 AM
Very nice lizard:)

01-12-2014, 08:58 AM
This lizard must have swallowed a toad! That's why it looks sleepy and tired, because of the digestion effort ... Lovely character!

01-13-2014, 02:30 AM
Another nice painting,, well done:)

01-13-2014, 05:44 AM
A lot of great ideas out there Krpolak,

Keep posting.

02-01-2014, 07:58 PM
Thanks a lot for the comments. Considering pictures some of you posted recently, I am just keeping up... :)

Talking about keeping, the same style, different theme. Initially done on 2 inch yellow sticker with pencil, refined and finished in Artrage.

What brushes do you use on the portraits?

02-02-2014, 10:29 PM
Love the lizard, and the last one is pretty great too!

02-07-2014, 05:51 PM
Thanks again guys for great comment!

Danny, I use standard oil brush, with about 50% dilution, because I dont want too heavy texture.

Here is new one... "Live sketch club portrait"

02-07-2014, 10:08 PM
Looks like a young, still unmarried Masai boy, as for his attire, although on his face he seems prematurely aged. Nicely colorful.

Thanks Ceasar! This is actually live model we had at sketch club today. Its a lady, not so young, but surely with African origin. Her attire is real, yep that how she walks every day, her hair entangled into long, pure red, tight strings (hint: google red dreads), pretty much just like on the picture ;) It took me probably 2 hours starting with blank canvas in front of modeling stage :)

02-08-2014, 10:09 AM
Excellent live portrait Kpolak! I like the colour combo too!

02-10-2014, 01:02 AM
What an excellent face, great work:)

02-14-2014, 12:16 AM
Next sketch club, next set of portraits. This time very short, 10 minutes each! Thats it, buzzer on, model gone!

02-14-2014, 06:22 PM
... And one more short poses portrait sketches. Short, challenging and fun!

02-17-2014, 12:51 AM
Great new additions, well done:)

02-21-2014, 12:46 AM
Thanks a lot!

Today we had Tony on a longer pose.

Tony played clarinet, as you can pick and he is a great model with an expressive face... Before I "filled" my mind with renaissance drawings and tried to keep this sketch in that style...

02-21-2014, 07:52 PM
Great live portraits, the red dreads one has more contacts in color, very interesting to look, Tony is very vivid though

03-23-2014, 11:25 PM
Thanks, thanks, thanks again!

This time playing with architecture and street scapeing. Keeping thing clean, but loose, away an act of balance...

"Side Doors"

03-24-2014, 12:33 AM
I'm really delighted to see You back and to admire Your last masterpieces, dear mate! Excellent!

03-24-2014, 04:08 AM
Your paintings are sublime.
