I finished my drawing, or painting of my dog, Trix. I didn't rush this one, it took me about a week. I understand now what Bob Ross said about oils being the most forgiving medium. If something isn't right I just added or removed paint and worked it until it was what I wanted. Before somebody notices that her mouth is crooked, it was that way in the photo.

nice work, I can see the details and time it must have taken... the shiny nose and coarse fur... looks like a sweet dog as well..

Looks like such a sweet dog and you have done a lovely portrait of her. I would consider, even though they are in the photo and naturally would be present, not showing the teeth. It could be just the tongue and the surrounding gum area. It is just that they show up a lot and therefore seem to me to be a bit distracting . Good job though!

Excellent effort George! The mouth is very important in this image, so it is worth getting it right. The teeth on the sides are fine, but the tongue will drape itself inside them and maybe they are more shadowed at the back. The green bit on the right looks like he's got dental decay, so maybe recolour that to the pink of the tongue/mouth. Are there no teeth showing at the front at all?

Have another look at your photo.

She's a cheery girl!

Yeah, things have been really slow in the forums, haven't they. And the server was down for a while while the tech people were doing something.

Nice painting. You should be very pleased with the result. Big jump in your skills. Well done!
