View Full Version : Lou Reed Olis

I have just started using ArtRage and so far I'm pretty impressed.
I have a question, is there a way to have my wacom pen respond to opacity rather than size. I would prefer the opacity option, particularly with the square oil brush.
With sizing sensitivity the brush stroke starts as a point when in reality it should be as wide as the brush. Any Ideas?

Here is my first finished painting - took about five hours though.

Looks great. Interesting cat.

As to your question, there are other areas in the forums where it might get answered more surely. I'm afraid I don't know.

Hi Artworker
Love Lou Reed, fantastic painting.

There are no keyboard preferences to control thinners (I suspect as thinners/opacity are not handled programming wise the same across tools and not all tools have need for these).

What I do as a work around is to make up a set of presets based on thinners, knowing that brush size can be changed dynamically (shift-drag).

Correct, you may wish to check this one with technical... I dont have the issue on my Win7 desktop on the cintiq (brush fits width of cursor) but I do have the issue on my Win8 tablet pc where the start of the brush is only a small percentage of the width of the cursor.

Welcome to the forum. Great portrait and palette. Can't help with your question but, I use a different layer when needed and the set the opacity to what I want before I merge all layers.

Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement. The painting's not really the style I was going for - it should be much looser with broad strokes, but it's a start.
Haven't found the answer to the question about pen opacity yet - What I was really looking for was brush opacity that you find in Photoshop.
I don't think it's in Artrage.
I will ask the tech people though.
