After so many, it's still interesting to try to find a new way to paint one. This is very Painterly. Lots of brush and knife work. 2 layers. AR4. Orig size appx 3000x4000 pxl at 400 ppi.

A really nice rose Skylar and the way you painted it seems to have given it a great depth to its petals, almost to a third dimension.

Hi Skylar--very delicate work. I am watching all you non-noobs and am drooling--im still trying to get a handle on drawing in a digital realm and things like what you draw keep me going--hopefully, i will be able to post something decent soon but for now I am content to comment as an admirer.

Is it a rose? It seems to be a new genus at least in "painterly" terms. Stunning work, Lars! The differentiation between fore- and background is worthy of study for its harmonious chromatic scheme and depth of contrast.
