I created a pine branch sticker when I first started doing them, now with the symmetry tool it's much easier to make a realistic spruce tree. Decorations to come later.

Thanks drawing4art!

Here is a decorated tree, no lights yet I have to make them. Everything except the star and the candy canes were made in ArtRage. All the ornaments are stickers.

Aunt Betsy, very nice use of the symmetry feature! Love all those decorations too! Glad I'm not the only one who still has their tree up! Though, mine is still in my living room....L

Thanks Linda!

This tree I don't have to worry about needles getting all over the floor, or having to pack it away if it's artificial. I now have lights, new ornaments, and a subdued background. No presents yet, but it's only February so I still have some time. :D

Hey, you're pretty good with this.
I think a lot of people, especially people new to Artrage, would appreciate a tutorial for making such things.
This is quite cool.

Thanks Jean! Well I have been contemplating doing some sticker packets for everyone.:D

Thanks you so much Byron, I really appreciate your opinion and your encouragement. I have been doing Christmas trees for over a decade. I started doing them as vectors (ArtRage is lots easier). I think that's why I've taken to the stickers so well, they are very much like dealing with vector objects. I did a bunch of animated gif Christmas trees in CorelDraw and Windows Draw. Most of them started as vectors. I still have some of them on my webpage. http://www.betsymorrow.com/betsyart/christmas/page_3.htm There are 4 pages of them, the link is to the last and I think best page. If you want to see the rest of them just go to the links on the side of the page and start with "Home".

I have been doing some work with Cripster by email helping him to get started doing sticker. I have been thinking about doing some type of tutorial for the shiny stickers. I have only been doing sticker myself since just after Christmas, actually I think I made my first sticker file two months ago today.:D I did post how to do the shiny object shortly after ArtRage Studio Pro 3 came out http://www2.ambientdesign.com/forums/showthread.php?26389-ArtRage-Shiny-reflections, I'm the one who figured out that the reflection was of a picture of Ambient Design's headquarters.:D Of course you started it all with your 3D post. I've been kind of working my way up to doing a full blown tutorial. I don't think I have a Windows recording program, but I'm sure someone here knows which programs will work well with ArtRage. I might start doing a few videos. I have really appreciated the ones that other Rages have posted on YouTube.

Here is one more update.

I moved some of the ornaments around. I as long as a don't flatten the stickers I can still move and resize them. It's like decorating a real tree. I'm kind of picky and keep moving ornaments around until I'm satisfied with the placement and their relationship to the other tournaments.

I also added a few light branches in front of the top of the ornaments to eliminate the "floating in air" look. I also added a few more lights.

Here is another rendition of the same basic tree.

I've changed the silver beads for a gold garland, changed the star, moved the ornaments around, removed the background, and added a radiant glow around the tree.

With the background removed I can use the tree in other projects.

hi Aunt Betsy, I really like the last one you made. I love the background color in this one and the yellow garland round it, it kind of brings out all those decorative ornaments. Beautiful :)

Thanks so much Pai! Just like with a real tree I'm always moving things around. I think of this one as my sister's tree. She has a gold star and garland, when I use to do a tree I used a silver star and silver garland. I would guess that will be my next change.:D
