View Full Version : Eve's Rage (nudity)

Hey guys, first time here. A colleague introduced me to ArtRage a few months ago, first on iPad and then I bought it on Mac as well where I do my digital painting. This is my second bigger work done with this software and it's a bit of an alternative take on that bible story ... You can read more about it as well as see the process WIPs in my portfolio (just my name plus dot com). If you have any questions, let me know, otherwise I hope you like it. I'm in love with ArtRage! Cheers, Matej Jan

Nice work with the light and shadows. Well done

Just as a heads up, the AR team generally like to keep any image with nudity in the After 9 o'clock (http://www2.ambientdesign.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?21-After-9-o-clock) forum area. It's possible the thread may end up being moved there.

Oh, shoot, I really apologize. I usually do my homework, but when I tried to upload to the page it said I needed a forum account and then I just saw the gallery forum and figured I needed to post here. Please, by all means, move it to the after 9 ... I feel so silly now. I'll post my other, all-ages-appropriate work here tomorrow.

I have no probem with the "nudity" but it will probably be moved.
What a wonderful story of Eve being the one in charge and making the serpent bend to her will. Volumes could be written on that subject.
She is beautiful and voluptuous while being commanding and portentious. She holds that egg as though she has the future in her hand and will dictate it regardless of the the "penile" influence of mere men. Indeed, she is right. Now, if only she would make the right choices.
A great image that exists on many levels and well constructed.

Wherever this painting may eventually end by policy, due to some particular people or local sensitivity, I find this interpretation masterfully conceived and executed. I frankly don't see anything offensive here and nudity not offensive in itself, especially with art, so don't be ashamed at all. Our AR hosts will move it in case. The composition and expression on Eve's face, as well as the warm palette, make it all very dramatic, as it should be when You realize You were deceptively driven into a crucial mistake (a fundamental sin) which is going to roll-out all its endless negative consequences.

An image of Biblical proportions. I wish I had that figure too. . . handy. That darned Eve. . . What Adam could resist?
