Geoff, I am painting it at the maximum resolution the iPad allows which is 2048x2048 what size that will convert to for printing I have no idea. I usually crop once I have finished to whatever suits the picture but always keep the long edge at 2048.

I am sure it will work out great, what with matting etc it will make a nice print to hang on the wall.

Thank you Geoff, I keep doing lots of tweaking with the base layer colours to get the shades in the right places.

I love this piece of work, you have got the "glassiness" of the cats eyes just right. I would love to know how you got those fine whiskers in ? For me drawing on paper I would "score" the paper to create those, but I imagine you must of used a very small line in white perhaps ???? Is this also done on one layer, sorry for all the questions:D

Thanke you copespeak,

Drawing4rart, I use lots of layers, one for each section then if I make a mistake or don't like how it's turning out I can redo it. The wiskers are done on one layer with the ink pen on 1% I have to do them with a quick stroke to keep them smooth. Once it is nearly finished I will merge the layers down that don't need anymore changes.

Thanks for the information Saphire...I wondered if you needed to merge the layers together after a piece has been finished so now I know:D

Wow! This is really amazing, i'm a lover of details and this is a detailed masterpiece!

Very very good work, i'm admiring it.

Do you have more work similar to this to show (if you wan't :o)?
How long did it take for you to get this good?

I'm stunned...

It usually depends on how many layers I have open as to whether I merge them. The iPad eats up memory when to many things are going on, the last thing I want is for it to crash before I have had chance to save. At the moment I have about 10 copies, when I start a new section I save as copy and work on that one, when it is finished I just keep the last two copies for backup purposes.

Thank you Panzerstarter for your kind comment, I have lots of paintings like this in my gallery.

I have always loved painting and drawing so you could say I have done it for the last 60 years. I only took up digital painting just over 18 months ago when I received my first iPad and found ArtRage, being partially sighted animals are very easy to do, I just sit and stroke the screen the only hard parts are the eyes and features.

Looking good, sorry about the blown out area it was a quick shot just at the moment and there was a very strong early sun shining across the deck which over exposed that one area. One of those shots where it is better to take a quick shot than not at all.:)

Thank you Geoff, I may have to remove one of the layers, I added a flat colour layer early on set to shadow but on the full size painting and not a screen capture it looks a little dull, by removing that layer it has its sparkle back.
attached painting without the layer.
