Hi all! I been gone (camping season) and then Pneumonia but I'm better now and did this one quickly to get back into the swing. I've been painting on real paper (Gouache) while away and getting the hang of it. It will prob be two week before I am totally back in the swing. Lot's of catching up to do though.

I like the colors and peacefulness .

I like the economy here, to express so much with a color sketch.

Simple and effective! As You already know, I like Your artistic style.

Neal... I knew you tended to disappear over camping season , so good to have you back in action. Sorry to hear about the Pneumonia...ugh..that must have knocked ou down a bit... but artistically you are still burning brightly.. I love this deceptively simple landscape.. great colors and dramatic use of light and darks... nicely realized art piece..:):):):cool:

Thanks to all for Your great comments! Camping is done now (frost on the windshields in the morning is a good hint) Christmas is coming.

Well take care of your health! Camping is so fun. Imagine it's getting cold and wet.

I really like where you're going these days especially with the colors. And the quick marks are working for this style.
Nice stuff. Sort of reminds me of some of Hopper's vibe.

Thanks D Akey! I am fully recovered.
This painting started as a tiny thumbnail on paper. Roughly 1.5 x 1 inch. I liked the notan-like simple composition and exploited it in Artrage using the thumbnail as a ref. I just threw in some calligraphic marks and liked how they turned out. The whole painting took about 1/2 hour to complete.
I can see what you mean by the "Hopper's vibe." I'm a big fan of his work and am flattered to be likened to him even a little. Thanks again.

Wish I painted that well when I felt good. Love the simplicity!

Thanks Shibui and all who viewed and commented on my painting. Painting gets low priority at times so I can't always be here to post and comment when overwhelmed by other things.

I like it a lot Neil and I hope you are feeling better soon
