Hi all

Whats the best way to do sun rays coming out of trees or behind buildings, i've never been able to get it right, so i stopped, was watching TV this morning and saw this cool pic with sun rays.

There's a tutorial around here about Dodging and Burning-- a technique where you're using your Blend Modes to darken or light a lower layer with what you paint on an upper layer in grey tones. I would look that one up. Sun rays, to me, wash out those things they float over the top of visually. Perhaps you could achieve that effect by dodging over the top of a layer with a soft tool, like the airbrush. ??

Alternately, you could try using a bit of pale yellow color and the Airbrush tool on a layer, to see it's effects ....

I've only tried it a couple of times, but had decent success by a combination of adjusting the opacity of the layer, and using the eraser at a low pressure (2 or 3%) and a wide setting (80 to 100) to thin down in areas, giving you highs and lows.
