Cesare hi ... it's just one layer ... with repeated short strokes which I've described in another thread as a really inefficient way to paint, using layers probably would eliminate much of the guesswork, anyway I build up texture according to rules I'm used to ... sometimes after many hours I have to abandon, but that's part of the fun of discovery :) ... the slight blurring on the surface (if you can see it) is the result of sizing and repainting ...

amazingly subtle color variations.. the tans and blues and the variety of greens and black.. it is color rich from a limited palette and very satisfying result.. :cool:
