Here You really express Yourself and central US plains superbly, with an essential and masterful effectiveness perfectly in line with what I would see as the classical American painting school.

My Dear Caesar - You have complimented me more than you know. You saw the image, and its subtext. Thank you.

Can't put my finger on why I like this painting so much. It has a feel of home. Like you have just come home from a long trip and what you see is familiar and comforting. Nicely done Skylar.

Skylar, this is like a continue from So He Left, it is as he has been gone for a few years and is returning home again, such a wonderful painting, you really know how to express yourself thru your paintings

What a feeling...I can just hear the sound of the wind and the dirt blowing from the road....
Beautiful work Skylar.

Semd - Thanks so much. Yes, I do love old trucks, regardless of condition.
Shibui- Thank you so much. This is why I love painting this subject matter so. I, too connect thru my childhood - lots of good memories
Marilyn - Much thanks to you. There is something about a big open sky
Bobbi & Pat - Both of your comments spurred an addition to the orig. Tho it changes the focus, it still works. Enjoy...
Sandy - It is Kinda reminiscent of "Last Picture Show" I didn't see that til I read your comment

skylar, I love your update, the emotions are felt so much, there is a sadness here and it is a great artist that can bring this into their paintings, so very well done, I just love to see your art

Wow, that is exactly what I thought of Skylar. And a thought on old trucks...so much style and charm. Don't see that anymore.
Be well my friend. I am happy when I read that you have found this comfort zone, this home that is more than just a place.

Pat - Thank you. I like it when another artist sees a way to enhance an image. Often it takes two to paint a picture!
Sandy - Thank you my dear friend. This is truely a comfort for me. Just "Living" in the image while painting it is "nurturing".
Coops - Thank you so much.

Skylar... I loved the original and the sequel is even better... not a common occurrence.. Really your ability to paint the wide open space and old trucks touches something in us that is homey , comforting and a little sad.. the update for me is even nicer as it resolved the area of the painting that seemed to be lacking , the eye just leaked out of the painting there but your introduction of the figure defines the foreground and middle ground even more clearly and provides focus to all those areas.. nice addition..

I love that truck. I already wrote a story about that truck. How did you get it down from the mountains? This is turning into a graphic novel.
Seriously, love both new treatments. Very evocative.

Perfect character addition to the scene. I gives some more movement and drama to it!
