You show a high productivity with Your spontaneous approach and original compositions.
I'm sure that by practising You'll soon discover how to best use AR and establish a personal style and procedure (or a few).

it seems easy to make a portrait look like the model, but I find it hard to show the soul, the emotions.
But maybe Cristopher Walken is a bit too difficult to paint for me.
Anyway, even if there are some mistakes, I do like it.
Hope you too.

Hi there :)

its been a long time, since i posted my last pictures in this thread, but here i am back again still alive and healthy.
I hope you will enoy my last painting. Its the Rhine river, south of Cologne, where Im actually living.
I made it with wax, oil and a little airbrush on my Ipad 2 and its been taken from a photo that a friend made.
Further paintings i made while i was not here, will follow here very soon.

Bless You all :)

Here are some more, just simple ones, but I had a lot of fun to make them.
I found her face as one which is easy to paint, with only a few lines i can get her characteristics.
By the way, I have to apologize for my worse english.
Enjoy :)

Ah, I had to go back and look for the dragons. All I saw were breasts. . . but breasts and dragons sorta go together, assuming there are virgins attached to them. . . the breasts I mean. . . although in Pern, according to Anne McCaffrey, I suppose human types and dragons all get on pretty well and have a lovely symbiotic relationship.

Well then. . . where were we? Ah! Yes. Please keep posting.

You're too kind, dear mate.:) I'm just ana amateur like You. I like very much Your strong graphical style for portraits, but also appreciate Your paintings. The last man looks perfect too, although a little bit stiff and not very neat on my screen, which makes it look somehow like a picture on a grave ...:eek:creepy ...

Ahahahah :oLOL, that was a real gaffe (faux pas) for me!:o That's why then. You was probably concentrated staring to Your face in a mirror while painting or to a camera with a fear not to be photogenic. Your features are aesthetically nice, certainly nothing looks irregular or of the wrong size, but You weren't probably enough confident and relaxed, I guess, but I can be wrong again ...;):o.

:o) No problem, Caesar. You are right, I dislike to be photographed and in this case I was concentrated in trying to look like how ever i imagined being me on a portrait. For the first time I did not feel very comfortable while I was painting myself, but later I had fun with this Kind of selfexperience and for me, I reached my goal, to make it look like me. When I compare it with my face right now, i can see a lot of memorized facial expressions, like puckers and so, that make a face a kind of mirror of the inner self. And in THIS case, I reached my goal definitely not, but this is ust a part of the process of self-awareness. I will keep on seeing, painting, recognizing more and more. :)

There are painters like Rembrandt, Van Gogh or Lucien Freud who could not refreain from self-portraying all over their lives, almost merciless towards themselves by getting old, not at all narcissistic, and this may certainly be the most important and meaningful subject for an artist. Therefore You are engaged in what is probably the hardest challenge and by succeeding (and You showed You can) and constantly improving insight with likeness You give Yourself the best evidence of Your artistic value. Personally I portray other people better than myself, so I'm probably still the most mysterious and weird personality to myself ... apart from not really charming to my judgement ...:o;)
