I keep wondering. What happened to the man in the boat? It is not tied up? It must have gotten away or the person on it fell out? Maby place a dock in the painting to tie it to? One person in the boat would not take away from the solotude in the painting? Maby I am just putting to much thought into it but also there is no way to move the boat. Paddles? Motor? Just a thought. Love the work though. Artisticaly wonderful painting. Just a few unanswered questions for someone like me that is becoming OCD with my work.

Very nice shimmer to the water.

The theme is well portrayed. it looks like a small swell is possibly breaking on shore, as if we're standing on the dry ground. The unmanned boat is adrift. The lighthouse is interesting in the same picture, those being the only two objects other than nature, because that size dingy or whatever it is could represent a lifeboat. But the lighthouse in and of itself is not really for a warning to boats so small, more something to spot on the horizon to aim toward after the main vessel sinks. Of course the boat could be like the car for the lighthouse keeper - his way to get around - something that simple.

Anyway, it's very evocative thematically, something that's to be determined by each viewer I think.

As to the lighthouse itself, it looks to be leaning a little to the left, probably based on the asymmetry of the angles of the sides. It could have been designed that way in order to withstand water more.

Whatever, this is a fine work.
