I am sure you have it figured out. Have you?

Not entirely. I can see you have a segment that you repeat, but not sure how you placed and fanned it. Seems like the kind of thing one might do in Illustrator, though this is raster graphics. Not sure how to do an array along a path in ArtRage other than by hand. Do tell! ;)

It has to do with manipulating layers. I take half of one blade and copy that layer and then flipped and adjusted the angle them merged the two layers. Then I copy that layer and adjust it to line up and merge again. I do this untill I have desired effect. This allows complex things to become a simple process. When I get home I will put a couple of simple examples in different stages togather for ya. I need to get a program that allows me to viedos of my process to make it easier to explane.

Thanks for the invite. Tempting offer. But I'm up to my eyeballs on other things and ArtRage forums is for me getting a chance to work my writing muscles and perhaps help people with their art. I'm afraid to me art is work. Has been for a long time.

The technique is a neat one though and I can see you using it for certain effects.

I think you may want to consider looking at the Art Nouveau artists like Alfonse Mucha and decorative artists like Erte for places in which such a technique might be applied mixing it with figures and so forth.

I'm showing this not to intimidate you, but rather to give you ideas for your own stuff, based on where you are on your journey. You don't have to run out and be able to draw perfect people in sophisticated poses. Just more a matter of how decorative can be integrated.
