A young artist, who has studied hard, spent many hours burning the candle at both ends, had hard times to pay for his study, gone without all kind of things for the sake of getting a degree in art....
Finally after years of struggle and hardship he gets his degree...
and then......He breaks his favorite brush, tears of frustration and anger,as he sees on his newspaper that a scribble in pastels by a person called MUNCH has sold for a sum of 119 MILLION.... The question is,has this young man wasted all that time, all those years of study,to learn his trade.........Yes I could scream too......Jack. ( And I do understand Twaager).

A most impressive and well painted artpiece!
The art market in these recent decades is just like the financial markets. People earning fortunes by speculating on building up networks of repetears to work on psychologies and inflate bubbles lifted up as flying donkeys ...
What's the objective value in the art history of todays bestselling artists outside their mythologies and supporting booster can hardly be defined in the mud on scarse competence and profits-only interests.
In either the least educated, popular, widespread "cultures" for mass selling of anything pretending to easily be art, even with a capital A, and the conceptual and elitarian market of pretended exclusivities You're substantially paid either by many customer at low prices or few snobs at high prices insofar You've got enough boasting trumpets and provocative behaviours to sell Your character first.
"Mala tempora currunt", so love and excellence for the best human features, efforts, achievements and expressions are but a rarity which has to survive unlikely hoping to meet patrons really worth of this name ...
