A lovely still life Pat:)
I'm not good enough to give advice, but have you thought about using a different background color? Just to bring out more of the flower that may to get lost ....
Maybe I'm wrong, if so sorry:o

Beautiful background Silvy. Use it Pat. She was right it really does set it off nicely and .more peaceful with the natural color.

Pat, sometimes if you pick up the colours in your painting and use them lightly in the b/g that works also

Really nice colors Pat! Very sophisticated because there's an overall color range that you're keying it all to. Nice harmony. :):):)

That wall color is a little luminous for this overall just because it's so intense, but you can do all kinds of things with shadow gently creeping in and what have you. A way to think about composing a picture is both with objects with their local color as well as painting with light and shadow. You can pull the area of attention to where you want it in this way.

It could take a while to play around with it over time. But like I said, this rocks.

Nice soft painting Pat. It soothes the nerves and brings out harmony in all the composition. Some worried about the background but what got my attention was the flower in SUCH BEAUTIFUL base.. Nice job Pat! I loved it the way YOU decided your world to be. Isn't that what Bob Ross used to preach?

pat a beautiful work especially nice is the rose and delicate colors.. I think the background color was too much competition for the rose.. I like silvy's background.. it really sets off the rose ...
