Cavaliere con berretto rosso e mantello azzurro is a De Chirico painting of 1939.
Some months ago I did a pencil sketch of his horse and then some tests in Arte Rage.
I'd like to know what you think about....;)
1- pencil sketch
2- oil, knife on paper
3- chalks, knife on canvas
4-knife loaded on paper

disegno bello, mi piace molto, ci ricorda anche il famoso "Cavallo di Leonardo" ... soprattutto gli studi per il cavallo ...

really great design, brings to mind also Leonardo da Vinci's famous "Equestrian Monument" and especially the studies for the horse ...
Sorry for my Italian :-)

silvy..I love the pencil sketch as a finished product best but I applaud your attempts with other media to see the changes that that inherently brings... all in all a great effort , very creative and colorful works.:):):cool::cool::cool:

the second one (oil + knife) is my favourite, love the expression on the horse's face, especially the eye. well done! :)

@eighty+ thank you very much. :)
Yes I enjoy to make different try, but sometime the simplest is best of the more elaborate;)

@chinapete , grazie mille! Il tuo italiano perfetto:)

@justjean many thanks for your reply.:)

@gxhpainter thank you very much, you're very kind.
Like I say to eighty, the first and simple is often the best.:)

@Alexandra Thank you very much!:)

@Katie , the rainbow is accidental:D, blending colors with knife it appears. Magic blend. Thank you very much dear;)

@MSIE, grazie mille!:)

@Geoff , thank you for your kind comment. :)

Pencil sketch was the winner:D, chalk one in second place
and oil bronze medal.
Knife one the worst

a wonderful experiment. good to see all the variations.

The variants are each unique. The change of texture and colors makes each interesting in its own right.

Good herd Silvia.
E guarda il caso questa sera a "Che tempo che fa" il prof. Caroli ha proprio parlato di De Chirico.
